Tirumala, Apr 23 (TNT): Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has put in place extensive medical facilities to ensure the health and safety of thousands of devotees visiting Tirumala every day for darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
A total of 16 medical centres are functioning across Tirumala, with Ashwini Hospital serving as the main hospital, supported by an Apollo Cardiac Centre, according to TTD.
Round-the-clock medical services are available at key locations including the Vaikuntham Queue Complex, Kalyanakatta, ATC Circle, Srivari Temple premises, Alipiri footpath, and Galigopuram.
Additional centres operate during specified hours at locations such as the Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex, Alipiri Padala Mandapam, Seventh Mile, and Bhashyakarula Sannidhi.
Special arrangements are also made during peak periods and festivals, with extra medical centres set up at Ram Bagicha and Papavinasanam.
Nine ambulances, including those operated by TTD, 108 emergency services and Apollo, are stationed at strategic points to handle emergencies.
Devotees requiring advanced treatment are shifted free of cost to major hospitals in Tirupati, including SVRR (Ruia), BIRRD and SVIMS.
Medical services are provided round the clock by a team of eight doctors and 120 paramedical staff. On an average, about 2,400 devotees avail medical assistance everyday at all centres in Tirumala.
Comprehensive facilities such as ECG, X-ray, laboratory services, oxygen support and emergency care are available at Ashwini Hospital, while specialised cases are referred to higher medical centres in Tirupati.
