TTD Ensures Smooth Services as Tirumala Records Over 2.42 Lakh Pilgrims in Three Days
TIRUMALA, June 14 (TNT): Tirumala witnessed a heavy influx of pilgrims over the weekend, with more than 2.42 lakh devotees visiting the hill shrine during the last three days as the two-month summer vacation period draws to a close.
According to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), a total of 2,42,894 pilgrims visited Tirumala during the three-day period. Despite the heavy rush, TTD maintained uninterrupted services and continuous monitoring to ensure hassle-free darshan for devotees arriving from different parts of the country.
Acting on the directions of senior authorities, TTD officials closely supervised arrangements round the clock. Deputy Executive Officers Lokanatham, Rajendra, Somannarayana, Bhaskar and Ramakant, along with Chief Public Relations Officer Dr. T. Ravi, Aswini Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Subba Reddy and Vigilance and Security officials, reviewed services regularly.
To cater to devotees waiting in queue lines, TTD established 29 Annaprasadam distribution points and deployed four Srivari Sevaks at each location to provide meals and refreshments.
The Engineering Department arranged 37 drinking water points between Gate No. 69 and Gate No. 1 and ensured the availability of both permanent and temporary toilet facilities.
The Health Department set up 49 water drums at key locations and deployed volunteers to assist pilgrims. Sanitation teams carried out continuous cleaning of toilets and ensured prompt disposal of waste.
As part of crowd management measures, devotees were allowed into queue lines in a systematic manner from the Octopus Circle. TTD also created 29 additional queue blocks between Bata Gangamma Temple Circle and Pachikalva Gangamma Temple Circle, each capable of accommodating around 150 devotees.
Each queue block was manned by two Srivari Sevaks and a security guard to regulate pilgrim movement and maintain safety.
TTD said departments including Potu, Transport, Vigilance and other service wings worked round the clock to manage the rush and provide essential services.
Officials stated that continuous monitoring was being carried out to ensure the comfort, safety and convenience of pilgrims visiting the hill shrine.
