TGCSB to Hold 2-km Night Walk in Hyderabad on October 1 to Raise Cybersecurity Awareness
Hyderabad, Sept 28 (TNT): The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) will organise a 2-km night walk at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road in the city on October 1 as part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, aiming to sensitise citizens to cyber fraud and promote safe digital practices.
The event, titled ‘Cyber Security Flash – Pause for Safety’, will begin at 5 pm under the theme ‘Hyderabad Hits Pause – Walk. Pause. Light up against cyber fraud’.
Participants have been encouraged to switch on their mobile phone flashlights during the walk to symbolise collective vigilance against cybercrime, the Bureau said in a release on Monday.
The walk will mark the launch of a month-long cybersecurity awareness campaign across Telangana.
The initiative will promote the message ‘Pause. Think. Verify’, urging citizens to verify calls, messages, suspicious links and customer-care numbers before sharing personal information or making payments.
The campaign will feature cybersecurity awareness sessions, street plays, skits, poster exhibitions, pledge programmes, quizzes, competitions and social media outreach.
Awareness posters will also be displayed in local supermarkets.
The month-long programme will culminate on October 31 with Cyber Security Flash walks across districts of Telangana, to be flagged off by the respective Superintendents of Police.

The bureau has urged victims of financial cyber fraud to immediately call the National Cyber Crime Helpline at 1930 and report the incident.
