Telangana’s Singareni to offer re-employment opportunity to employees dismissed for unauthorised absence

Hyderabad, Nov 3 (TNT): The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has decided to reconsider the cases of former employees dismissed for unauthorised absence from duty during the period from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2025, providing them an opportunity to seek re-employment.

The management issued orders on Tuesday constituting a High-Power Committee to examine the cases and consider eligible employees for re-employment.

The decision follows a request by public representatives from the coal belt during a recent meeting with Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka. Responding to their appeal, Bhatti directed the Singareni management to examine the possibility of taking back the dismissed employees.

As per the eligibility conditions, applicants should be aged 46 years or below as on April 1, 2026, and must have completed at least 100 muster days in any two of the five calendar years preceding their dismissal.

They should also be medically fit for appointment to a Category-I post as General Assistant Trainee (Underground).

Eligible former employees have been asked to submit applications in the prescribed format to the head of the mine or department where they last worked by November 14, 2026.

Area General Managers have been instructed to scrutinise the applications and forward eligible cases to the concerned authorities for further action.

Applicants can contact officials of their respective mines or departments for further details, the management said.
