Hyderabad, Apr 21 (TNT) :Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Tuesday invited Norwegian companies to explore investment opportunities in the state, particularly in life sciences and healthcare sectors.
During a meeting with a high-level delegation led by Norway’s Ambassador May-Elin Stener at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat here, Sridhar Babu highlighted Telangana as a preferred investment destination due to its strong industrial ecosystem and ease-of-doing-business policies.
He outlined opportunities for collaboration in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, climate technology, health tech, deep tech, cybersecurity, digital public services, green hydrogen, battery technology, electric mobility, clean energy, industrial decarbonisation, green manufacturing, digital health, biotechnology and medical devices.
The Minister also proposed the establishment of a “Telangana–Norway Working Group” to strengthen bilateral cooperation and facilitate investments.
He noted that Norway is a global leader in clean energy, sustainable infrastructure, offshore wind and innovation-driven economies, and said Telangana is keen to partner in these areas.
Responding positively, Ambassador Stener said Norway is ready to collaborate with progressive states like Telangana and would take steps to further strengthen bilateral ties, including working towards setting up the proposed working group.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Innovation Norway, including its head Bjørn Iversen, First Secretary Silje Kristine Andersen and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director Siri Weseth Meling, among others.
