Telangana Govt Releases Rs 2,000 Crore Pending Dues to Employees in First Phase
Hyderabad, May 29 (TNT): The Telangana government on Friday released ₹2,000 crore towards long-pending employee dues in the first phase, marking the beginning of the clearance of ₹6,000 crore promised to government employees and pensioners.
Acting on the directions of Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Finance Department Special Chief Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania issued orders for the release of funds.
The move follows an assurance given by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka to leaders of the Employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) that pending dues amounting to ₹6,000 crore would be cleared within 100 days.
According to the government, the funds released in the first phase have enabled the complete settlement of key dues relating to retired employees. General Provident Fund (GPF) claims of retired employees have been cleared in full, while all commutation dues pending up to May 2025 have also been settled.
Officials said the payments were made possible through advance planning and a focused financial strategy. The government reiterated its commitment to clear the remaining ₹4,000 crore within the stipulated timeframe.
Employee union leaders and retired employees welcomed the decision and thanked the government for initiating the clearance of long-pending dues, describing it as a significant relief for thousands of beneficiaries across the state.
