AP CM Sets Strict Timelines for Infrastructure Projects, Calls for Strengthening APSRTC

Amaravati, May 29 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday directed officials to fix strict timelines for the completion of ports, airports and other infrastructure projects across the state, stressing the need for faster execution and timely delivery.

Reviewing investments, infrastructure development and APSRTC at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister assessed the progress of works at Mulapeta, Ramayapatnam and Machilipatnam ports, besides fishing harbours at Juvvaladinne, Nizampatnam and Machilipatnam.

Officials briefed him on issues relating to the proposed airports at Dagadarthi, Kuppam and Srikakulam, including land acquisition, funding mobilisation and approvals from the Centre.

The review also covered the procurement of electric buses for APSRTC.

Stating that the government had already announced commissioning schedules for irrigation projects and mandated that major industries entering the state begin production within 18 months, Naidu said infrastructure projects should be completed with similar urgency.

He directed officials to expedite the completion of ports, airports and fishing harbours currently under development and ensure that all stages of execution are completed within defined deadlines.

“All processes, including approvals, technical clearances, tendering and construction, must be carried out within fixed timelines. Equal priority should be given to mobilising the required funds for these projects,” he said.

The Chief Minister also instructed officials to prepare plans for the optimal utilisation of APSRTC assets and take steps to further strengthen the state-run transport corporation.

Ministers B. C. Janardhan Reddy and Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad and senior officials attended the review meeting.
