Hyderabad, May 10 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister  A Reddy on Sunday proposed the creation of a “Special Single-window Task Force” in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to facilitate speedy approvals for projects of national importance relating to six major metropolitan cities in the country.

The proposal was made in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a programme organised at HICC in Hyderabad for the inauguration and foundation stone-laying of multiple development projects.

Revanth Reddy suggested that the proposed task force should focus on projects concerning the metropolitan cities of  — Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

The Chief Minister said these metropolitan centres were witnessing rapid economic growth and played a crucial role in India’s economic expansion.

He stressed that accelerated development of major cities was essential for positioning India among the world’s leading economies and generating large-scale employment opportunities for the youth.

The dedicated single-window mechanism under the PMO would help ensure faster clearances and smoother coordination for infrastructure and development projects of national significance, the CM added.
