Telangana Governor, CM Extend Greetings to Tribal Communities on Intl Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples
Hyderabad, Aug 9 (TNT): Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday extended greetings and best wishes to tribal communities on the occasion of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples.
In his message, Governor Shukla said the culture, traditions and ancient knowledge systems of tribal communities are invaluable treasures of India’s heritage.
He stressed the need to safeguard the rights, dignity and identity of tribal communities while ensuring equal opportunities, inclusive development and empowerment for their progress.
The Governor called upon all sections of society to respect and preserve the rich heritage of indigenous communities and contribute to building a more equitable and inclusive society.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, in a post on X, extended his warm greetings to indigenous communities and said their way of life was deeply intertwined with nature.
He said indigenous communities, who revere nature as God, consider forests as their mother and preserve their culture and traditions across generations, have made nature conservation a cornerstone of their existence.
Their knowledge, culture, traditions, collective way of life and commitment to environmental conservation serve as a guiding light for humanity, he said.
Revanth Reddy called upon people to stand together to honour the rights, existence and culture of indigenous communities and work towards ensuring their welfare, development and self-respect.
