Telangana CM Unveils Ambitious Future City Plan, Assures Farmers and Pushes Bullet Train Connectivity

Hyderabad, Apr 28 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday said the ambitious Bharat Future City would be developed on par with global hubs such as Singapore, Tokyo and New York City, while assuring farmers of fair compensation for lands acquired for the project.

Laying the foundation stone for the Future City Police Commissionerate, the Chief Minister said the government would safeguard farmers’ interests and ensure that no one suffers due to land acquisition.

He directed officials to conduct Gram Sabhas to include villages within the project limits based on the consent of local residents.

Reddy announced that the Future City Development Corporation office would be inaugurated by June 2 and said the government would extend continuous support to affected farmers.

He also instructed officials to address the concerns of the poor and underprivileged with compassion and to facilitate investments into the project through regular review meetings.

Highlighting infrastructure growth, the Chief Minister said proposals for three bullet train corridors involving Hyderabad have been cleared. These include routes connecting Hyderabad with Bengaluru, Pune, and Amaravati–Chennai, which he said would significantly boost development in Rangareddy district.

Taking a dig at the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Reddy accused its leaders of attempting to obstruct the project by spreading misinformation.

He likened their actions to mythological attempts to disrupt a “development yajna,” while asserting that the project would proceed without hindrance.

Referring to past scepticism over the Outer Ring Road (ORR), he said such initiatives eventually proved transformative and expressed confidence that the Future City would emerge as a major global investment destination.

The Chief Minister also appealed to Maoists to surrender and join the mainstream, assuring rehabilitation, healthcare, and security support from the government.
