Telangana CM Revanth visits Ambedkar House in London, calls it ‘a pilgrimage’
London, Aug 22 ( TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday visited the historic Ambedkar House in London, where Dr B.R. Ambedkar lived during 1921-22, and described the visit as “like a pilgrimage” that renewed his commitment to social justice.
Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, visited the museum at 10 King Henry’s Road, Primrose, London, which is dedicated to the life and ideals of Dr Ambedkar, an official release said.
The Chief Minister toured the museum for about an hour and was briefed on Dr Ambedkar’s life and his time in the UK by Santosh Dass MBE, Chair of the Anti Caste Discrimination Alliance (ACDA), who played a key role in establishing the museum.
The museum commemorates Dr Ambedkar’s contribution to constitutionalism, equality, social justice and the vision of a casteless society.
“Visiting Dr Ambedkar House is like a pilgrimage. The inspiration is for a lifetime. I feel renewed dedication for social justice,” Revanth Reddy wrote in the visitors’ diary.
After completing the tour, the Chief Minister said the visit had been “one of life’s great moments” and that he felt privileged to see and experience a personal aspect of “one of the greatest Indians ever born”.
The visit was part of Revanth Reddy’s ongoing official engagements in London.
