Telangana Cabinet approves next general life sciences policy 2026-30

Hyderabad, May 23 (TNT): Telangana Cabinet chaired by Chief Minsiter A Revanth Reddy on Saturday evening approved the Next Generation Life Sciences Policy 2026–30 aimed at positioning Telangana among the world’s top five life sciences hubs by 2030.

Under the policy, the government aims to attract investments worth USD 25 billion and generate five lakh jobs over the next five years.

The policy seeks to establish Telangana as a major destination for investments in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical innovation, while also creating employment opportunities in research, manufacturing, digital health and innovation sectors.

The government stated that while earlier focus was largely on manufacturing, the new policy would prioritise high-value innovation and include provisions recognising Research and Development units as industries.

The policy is also expected to attract Global Capability Centres and Global Innovation Centres to Telangana.
