Telangana BJP President slams Congress Govt Over HC Stay on Ghose Commission in Kaleshwaram Case

Hyderabad, Apr 22 (TNT): Telangana BJP President Shri N. Ramchander Rao on Wednesday strongly criticised the Congress government over the Telangana High Court’s stay in the matter relating to the Justice P.C. Ghose Commission on the Kaleshwaram Project,

He stated that the development has exposed the government’s faulty, misleading, and negligent conduct.

Talking to reporters here, Rao said that the Justice P.C. Ghose Commission was constituted to inquire into the irregularities in the construction and maintenance of the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages under the Kaleshwaram Project.

However, the Telangana High Court’s intervention and the observations made by it have now raised serious questions over the manner in which the entire process was handled by the Congress government.

He stated that a close reading of the High Court’s observations makes it evident that the stay did not arise in isolation, but was the result of serious procedural lapses, negligence, and failures on the part of the state government.

The concerns expressed by the Court regarding the manner in which the inquiry was conducted clearly indicate that due process and established norms were not properly followed, he said.

Rao said that in its desperation to protect the top accused, the Congress government allowed serious irregularities to creep into the entire process.

It is precisely these irregularities, he said, that led to the High Court directing that no coercive or consequential action be taken against the petitioners on the basis of the Commission’s report.

He asserted that this situation is a direct consequence of the Congress government’s deliberate mishandling of the matter and its apparent attempts to shield those at the highest level.

Such conduct, he said, creates a strong apprehension that negligence was not accidental, but was intended to benefit those actually responsible for corruption and irregularities in the execution of the Kaleshwaram Project.

Rao demanded that the state government immediately file an appeal in the Supreme Court against the High Court’s order so that the matter can be pursued without delay and justice is not derailed.

He emphasised that punishment of the guilty is an absolute necessity and that those responsible for the irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Project, whoever they may be, must be brought to justice in accordance with law.

He further said that the Congress government bears full responsibility for creating this situation through its misleading, negligent, and politically compromised approach in handling a matter of such serious public importance.

The Telangana BJP demands immediate corrective legal action and reiterates that the truth behind the Kaleshwaram irregularities must come out, and the guilty must not be allowed to escape accountability.
