Telangana banks’ deposits grow by Rs 49,522 crore in Q1FY27
Hyderabad, Aug 19 (TNT): Total deposits with banks in Telangana increased by Rs 49,522 crore during the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27, taking the total deposits to Rs 9,92,947 crore, according to the latest banking performance data released here on Wednesday.
Total bank advances increased by Rs 42,891 crore during the quarter to Rs 12,76,748 crore. The State’s credit-deposit ratio remained above 100 per cent and stood at 128.58 per cent at the end of the quarter.
Banks disbursed Rs 20,069 crore in short-term production loans during the quarter, achieving 34.51 per cent of the Kharif target, the Data stated.
Investment credit disbursements for agriculture allied, agriculture infrastructure and agriculture ancillary activities stood at Rs 32,268 crore, achieving 38.36 per cent of the annual target.
Against the annual agriculture credit target of Rs 1,81,035 crore, banks achieved disbursements of Rs 52,337 crore, representing 28.91 per cent of the annual target.
Under the priority sector, banks disbursed Rs 134 crore in educational loans and Rs 1,402 crore in housing loans during the quarter.
Banks disbursed Rs 91,374 crore to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, achieving 40 per cent of the annual target, it said.
The banks together disbursed Rs 1,46,096 crore to various categories of priority-sector borrowers, achieving 33.66 per cent of the annual target.
Under financial inclusion, banks in Telangana had 133.57 lakh accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). Of these, 112.44 lakh accounts, or 84.18 per cent, were Aadhaar-seeded, while RuPay cards had been issued to 92.36 lakh accounts, accounting for 69.14 per cent of the total PMJDY accounts.
Under social security schemes, banks covered 206.73 lakh customers under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and 109.52 lakh customers under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY). A total of 28.99 lakh customers subscribed to the Atal Pension Yojana, the Data added.
