Telangana Allocates Rs 802 Crore for Development of Temples Along Godavari Basin: Bhatti

Mancherial, June 13 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday said the state government is giving special priority to the development of temples located along the Godavari river basin and has earmarked ₹802 crore for the development and beautification of pilgrimage centres from Basara to Bhadrachalam.

Addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for development works at the Guddemgutta Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Temple in Mancherial Assembly constituency, Bhatti said the government is responding to the aspirations and faith of devotees by making substantial investments in spiritual infrastructure.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the Congress government is committed to promoting spirituality while simultaneously focusing on agriculture, the primary source of livelihood for people in the region.

In this context, he announced that ₹74 crore has been sanctioned for a lift irrigation project in the Guddemgutta area, and the foundation stone for the project was also laid on Saturday.

Bhatti congratulated local MLA Prem Sagar Rao for pursuing the development of education, healthcare, spirituality and irrigation sectors in the constituency with a clear vision.

He said the MLA had demonstrated that the responsibility of a public representative extends beyond holding office and lies in working tirelessly for the welfare of the people. Bhatti also appreciated Prem Sagar Rao for securing substantial funds for the development of Mancherial Municipality.

Expressing confidence that the redevelopment of the Guddemgutta temple would be completed expeditiously, the Deputy Chief Minister called upon the public to participate enthusiastically in the inauguration celebrations once the project is completed.

The programme was attended by Ministers D. Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman Kumar, besides public representatives and officials.
