Telangana: Adilabad MLA seeks house-site pattas, basic amenities for tribal families
Hyderabad, Sept 30 (TNT): Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar on Wednesday urged Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla to facilitate the issuance of house-site pattas and provision of basic amenities to around 500 tribal families residing in Komaram Bheem Colony in Battiswargav village of Mavala mandal, Adilabad district.
A delegation led by the MLA met the Governor at Lok Bhavan and submitted a representation seeking recognition of the families’ residential rights and access to essential facilities.
Payal Shankar informed the Governor that the families had been living in Survey No. 72 of Battiswargav village for nearly 30 years but had not been issued house-site pattas.
The absence of recognised residential rights had reportedly affected their access to electricity, safe drinking water and various government welfare schemes.
The delegation requested the Governor to advise the concerned authorities to conduct a field-level verification, identify eligible families and issue house-site pattas in accordance with applicable rules.
It also stated that the pattas would enable eligible tribal families to construct houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The Governor heard the representation and assured the delegation that it would be examined.
During the meeting, Payal Shankar and tribal representatives felicitated the Governor with a traditional Gussadi peacock-feather crown, a symbol of tribal culture and tradition.
Earlier, Medak MP M. Raghunandan Rao called on the Governor at Lok Bhavan in Hyderabad.
