Tata Power, Tata Motors launch Telangana’s first high-speed TATA.ev MegaCharger Hub in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 26 (TNT): Tata Power and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TPEM) on Friday inaugurated Telangana’s first high-speed TATA.ev MegaCharger Hub at iLabs Centre Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad’s Hitech City, marking a significant step towards strengthening the state’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

The facility was inaugurated in the presence of Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary to the Telangana Government, Jitesh V. Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL), Gopalakrishnan, Director, Automotive and EV Sector, Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Telangana, along with senior representatives of Tata Power and Tata Motors.

Strategically located in the heart of Hitech City, the charging hub has been designed to cater to Hyderabad’s growing community of electric vehicle users, including private vehicle owners, commercial fleets, ride-hailing operators, intercity travellers and corporate commuters, the company said in a release here.

Equipped with a total charging capacity of 360 kW, the MegaCharger Hub features three 120 kW charging dispensers, enabling up to six electric vehicles to charge simultaneously. The 24×7 facility is expected to significantly reduce charging time while providing a reliable and seamless charging experience.

The co-branded charging station is part of the rapidly expanding TATA.ev MegaCharger network, under which more than 750 charging points have already been commissioned across major cities and highways in the country. Many of these charging stations are accessible through the Tata Power EZ Charge App, which has over five lakh registered users.

Tata Power said its EV charging network currently comprises more than 6,500 public charging points across over 700 cities and towns, covering highways, airports, workplaces, commercial establishments, residential communities and key transit corridors.

In collaboration with leading automobile manufacturers, the company has also installed more than 2.3 lakh home chargers across the country.
