Sri Sundararaja Swamy Avatarotsavams to Begin at Tiruchanoor on July 5
Tirupati, July 4 (TNT): The annual Sri Sundararaja Swamy Avatarotsavams will be celebrated from July 5 to 7 at the Sri Sundararaja Swamy Temple, attached to the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple at Tiruchanoor.
As part of the three-day festivities, Suprabhatham, Sahasranamarchana and Nityarchana will be performed every morning.
Abhishekam to the processional deities of Sri Sundararaja Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi will be conducted daily from 3 pm to 4 pm, followed by Unjal Seva from 5.45 pm to 6.15 pm.
The deity will be taken out in Vahana Sevas on all three evenings. Pedda Sesha Vahanam will be held on July 5, Hanumantha Vahanam on July 6, and Garuda Vahanam on July 7.
All processions will pass through the four Mada Streets surrounding the temple.
In view of the Avatarotsavams, the Unjal Seva at the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple has been cancelled from July 5 to 7.
According to temple tradition, the Avatarotsavams commemorate the historic arrival of the Sri Sundararaja Swamy Utsava idols from Madurai to Tiruchanoor several centuries ago for their protection.
The festival is observed annually in remembrance of this sacred event.
