Southern Region police coordination meet in Hyderabad tomorrow; cybercrime, narcotics, inter-state security on agenda
Hyderabad, Oct 22 (TNT) :Top police brass from five southern states and three Union Territories will assemble here on Friday for the Regional Police Coordination Committee (RPCC) conference to devise unified operational strategies against inter-state crime syndicates, illicit drug networks, and cyber fraud.
Ahead of the high-level summit, Telangana Director General of Police C. V. Anand on Thursday chaired a preparatory meeting with senior officers to review operational and security arrangements.
Hosted by the Telangana Police, the day-long regional conference will see the participation of Directors General of Police (DGPs) and senior leadership to address pressing internal security issues and enhance cross-border coordination.
Taking to social media platform ‘X’, Anand said the review focused on fine-tuning arrangements for the conference, which aims to bridge operational gaps, facilitate seamless intelligence sharing, and establish a responsive inter-state policing framework.
“The meeting will bring together DGPs and senior officers from five Southern States and three Union Territories to deliberate on key policing and internal security challenges,” Anand said.
He noted that the outcomes and resolutions adopted during the conference will contribute directly to shaping the agenda for the upcoming 61st All India DGPs/IGPs Conference, scheduled to be held in Tirupati in December.
The DGP underscored the critical need for coordinated multi-state operations to dismantle organized crime syndicates, curb narcotics trafficking, combat sophisticated cybercrimes, and address emerging law-and-order and internal security threats.
He added that structured regional platforms are vital for sharing professional best practices, standardizing operational protocols, and building a more effective, synchronized security apparatus across southern India.
