Hyderabad, May 1 (TNT): Ity Pandey, Principal Chief Commercial Manager of South Central Railway (SCR), has achieved a rare distinction at the TCS London Marathon 2026, emerging as the first woman civil servant and the first Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer to accomplish the feat.
Pandey, a 1995-batch IRTS officer, was among a select group of 41 Indian veteran runners aged above 50 who completed the prestigious marathon, which saw participation from nearly 60,000 runners this year, SCR said in a release here on Friday.
Her achievement marks a significant milestone, reflecting exceptional endurance, discipline and commitment beyond professional responsibilities.
SCR congratulated Pandey on her accomplishment, describing it as an inspiring example of resilience, determination and excellence for both the organisation and the wider civil services community.
