SCR GM reviews Hyderabad Metro Rail operations
Hyderabad, July 21 (TNT): South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Tuesday reviewed the functioning of Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd. (HMRL), including its operations, maintenance practices and expansion plans, during a visit to the Metro Rail system.
Accompanied by Principal Heads of Departments and senior railway officials, the General Manager held a meeting with senior officials of HMRL and L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) at the Metro Rail Administrative Building in Nagole. Metro officials made a presentation on the operational framework, maintenance systems, passenger patronage, ongoing initiatives and future expansion plans, besides seeking continued support from the Railways for Metro expansion works involving railway level crossings.
The SCR team later inspected the Hyderabad Metro Rail Maintenance Depot, where they were briefed on train operations, monitoring systems, safety protocols and disaster management mechanisms.
The officials also visited the maintenance shed, coach inspection facilities, pit line and points and crossings used for the movement of Metro trains into the depot.
The visiting officials participated in a tree plantation programme at the depot, reaffirming the commitment of South Central Railway and Hyderabad Metro Rail towards environmental sustainability and green initiatives.
Srivastava appreciated the maintenance standards adopted by Hyderabad Metro Rail and commended HMRL and L&T Metro Rail officials for ensuring efficient train operations through advanced technologies and sound maintenance practices.
He expressed confidence that continued cooperation between South Central Railway and Hyderabad Metro Rail would further strengthen urban transport infrastructure in the region.
