Hyderabad, Apr 30(TNT): Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. has emerged as the top-performing 5G network in Warangal, according to the latest Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India in March 2026.
The report for the Andhra Pradesh–Telangana telecom circle showed that Jio outperformed competitors including Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and BSNL across key parameters such as download speed, voice quality, latency and signal strength.
Jio recorded the highest average download speed of 260.01 Mbps in auto-selection mode, significantly ahead of Airtel’s 161.18 Mbps, while Vodafone Idea and BSNL registered 27.83 Mbps and 8.32 Mbps respectively.
At major hotspots in Warangal, the network delivered an average speed of 308.92 Mbps, with peak 5G speeds reaching 471.60 Mbps at Hanamkonda Bus Stand and 456.67 Mbps at Reddy Colony.
In terms of voice quality, Jio achieved the highest Mean Opinion Score (MOS) of 4.46, compared to Airtel (3.98), Vodafone Idea (3.76) and BSNL (2.97). Around 86.74 per cent of Jio’s voice samples were rated “Excellent,” the report said.
The company also recorded the lowest latency at 21.94 milliseconds, offering faster responsiveness for applications such as gaming and streaming.
Competing networks reported higher latency levels, with Airtel at 38.36 ms, Vodafone Idea at 43.70 ms and BSNL at 57.81 ms.
Jio further led in signal strength, with a higher proportion of “Excellent” ratings in both voice and data categories. At key locations including Kakatiya University, NIT Warangal and Warangal Railway Station, the network maintained a 100 per cent call setup success rate with zero call drops, while average call setup time stood at 0.77 seconds.
With these performance indicators validated by TRAI, Jio has established itself as the fastest and most reliable 5G network in Warangal, the company said in a release here on Thursday.
