Hyderabad, Mar 23 (TNT): Prasads Multiplex has unveiled a new premium cinema auditorium featuring ‘PCX HDR by Barco’, marking one of the largest HDR-enabled screens in India.
The upgraded auditorium, located in Hyderabad, is equipped with a proprietary Barco 4K Laser HDR projector powered by Lightsteering technology, capable of delivering brightness levels of up to 300 nits. The technology significantly enhances image clarity, colour depth and contrast, offering an immersive viewing experience.
The 390-seater hall has undergone a complete refurbishment, including installation of a flat aspect ratio screen, redesigned interiors, upgraded seating and improved acoustics.
Ramesh Prasad, Managing Director of Prasads, said the launch continues the multiplex’s legacy of introducing advanced cinema technologies. He noted that the venue had earlier pioneered digital 4K projection in 2014, Dolby Atmos sound in 2015 and dual laser projection systems in 2022.
He added that the new PCX HDR by Barco auditorium complements the multiplex’s existing screens, including its flagship premium large format screen, now rebranded as PCX Infinity.
Established in 2003 and located near Hussain Sagar Lake, Prasads Multiplex is a prominent entertainment destination known for hosting major film releases and adopting cutting-edge exhibition technologies.
