PM Congratulates Gulveer, Harjinder Kaur on Commonwealth Games Silver Medals
New Delhi, July 29 (TNT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated Gulveer and Harjinder Kaur on winning silver medals at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister praised Gulveer for winning the silver medal in the men’s 10,000 metres event, describing his commitment and dedication as commendable.
“Gulveer shines in Glasgow! Congrats to him for winning a Silver in the Men’s 10,000m event. His commitment and dedication are commendable. All the best to him for the endeavours ahead,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister also congratulated Harjinder Kaur on securing the silver medal in the women’s 69 kg weightlifting event.
He noted that Harjinder’s performance was a personal best and said it was encouraging to see Indian weightlifters performing well at the Games.
“Congratulations to Harjinder Kaur for winning a Silver in the Women’s 69 kg event at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Also noteworthy is the fact that her performance was a personal best. It is gladdening to see our weightlifters perform so well in the Games,” Modi said, while wishing her success in future competitions.
