PepsiCo’s Kurkure launches Ribbon Pakoda targeting South Indian markets
Hyderabad, Nov 4 (TNT) : PepsiCo India’s snack brand Kurkure on Wednesday launched Ribbon Pakoda, a new product inspired by the traditional South Indian snack, in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
The product combines rice flour and three varieties of lentils — urad, chana and moong — with sesame seeds, black pepper and Guntur chilli, the company said in a release.
Made using rice bran oil, the snack contains no palm oil or artificial colours and flavours, it said.
Ankit Agarwal, Marketing Director, Kurkure, PepsiCo India, said the launch was part of the company’s efforts to introduce products inspired by regional food traditions and local consumer preferences.
The launch will be supported by a promotional campaign in Kannada across television and digital platforms and in Tamil and Telugu through digital media.
The product will be available in 28-gram packs priced at Rs 10 and 56-gram packs priced at Rs 20 through neighbourhood retail outlets in the three states.
