Officials inspect Kakinada SEZ for proposed ‘Samudra Manthan’ project

Kakinada, Sept 22 (TNT): A team of officials led by State Industries and Commerce Secretary Yuvaraj and Joint Collector Apurva Bharat on Tuesday inspected the Kakinada Gateway Port and Kakinada Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in connection with the proposed ‘Samudra Manthan’ project.

The project has been proposed by the Centre to expedite oil and gas exploration activities along the coastal areas.

The officials inspected several sites in the Kakinada SEZ and assessed their suitability for the proposed project.

Kakinada Gateway Port Managing Director Ramreddi Ozili and SEZ CEO Mantha Srinivas briefed the team on the facilities and infrastructure available in the SEZ.

The Kakinada Gateway Port management assured the officials of its cooperation in facilitating the project.

The officials expressed the view that the proposed project could provide a boost to oil and gas exploration activities in the coastal region.

Revenue and Survey Department officials also accompanied the team during the inspection.
