Oben Electric plans 25 Telangana showrooms by FY27 as Hyderabad tops Rorr Evo bookings

Hyderabad, May 22 (TNT): Oben Electric on Friday announced plans to expand its footprint across Telangana with 25 showrooms by the end of FY27, driven by strong demand for its newly launched Rorr Evo electric motorcycle.

The Bengaluru-based company said Hyderabad has emerged as the highest booking market in the country for the Rorr Evo since its launch on April 30, 2026, and is expected to contribute nearly 10 per cent of the model’s nationwide sales.

As part of the expansion drive, Oben Electric showcased the Rorr Evo in Hyderabad on Friday.

The company currently operates five showrooms in Telangana located at Kondapur, Warangal, Secunderabad, Karimnagar and RC Puram.

The company said the Rorr Evo has received over 25,000 bookings within 15 days of launch, making it one of the fastest-selling electric motorcycles in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Harshavardhan Deshmukh, Vice-President (Sales and Network Development), Oben Electric, said the motorcycle is being offered at an introductory price of ₹99,999 (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 customers, after which it will be priced at ₹1,24,999. The model is available in four colours.

Deliveries are scheduled to commence from June 2026, while the online booking portal remains open for customers to avail the introductory pricing, he said.

The motorcycle is powered by a proprietary IPMSM motor delivering 9 kW peak power and 250 Nm of wheel torque. It features a 3.4 kWh LFP battery with an IDC-certified range of 180 km, acceleration from 0 to 40 kmph in three seconds and a top speed of 110 kmph.

Additional features include fast charging from 0 to 80 per cent in 90 minutes, an eight-year battery warranty, a 5-inch TFT display, OTA software updates, navigation, geo-fencing, remote immobilisation and emergency SOS support.

Deshmukh said the company has raised close to ₹300 crore so far and plans to raise another funding round under Series B during Q2 FY27.

He said Oben Electric operates a vertically integrated 3.5-acre manufacturing facility in Bengaluru with an annual production capacity of one lakh units, where it manufactures motors, batteries and electronic management systems in-house.

The company claimed its products have achieved 99 per cent localisation and highlighted its use of LFP battery technology aimed at improving safety, durability and operational efficiency in electric two-wheelers.

Deshmukh said motorcycles account for nearly 68 per cent of India’s two-wheeler market, underlining the country’s strong long-term demand for performance-oriented motorcycles.
