National CVD Summit 2026 to focus on strengthening cardiovascular care
Goa, Sept 22 (TNT): The Directorate of Health Services, Government of Goa, in association with Bengaluru-based AI health-tech company Tricog Health India, will host the National CVD Summit 2026 from September 25 to 27 to deliberate on strengthening cardiovascular care across India.
Held at Elements by Rosetta, Goa, the three-day summit will bring together cardiologists, paediatricians, public health experts and government officials to discuss cardiovascular care ranging from early detection and emergency response to long-term disease management.
The summit will focus on translating discussions into implementation, with recommendations from individual sessions to be consolidated into a formal document for submission to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), organisers said.
Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane will inaugurate the summit on September 26.
The inaugural session will feature representatives from the Goa government, Union government and NITI Aayog, besides clinicians and public health experts.
Dr C.N. Manjunath, Member of Parliament and former Director of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, will deliver the keynote address on “Cardiovascular Care in India”.
A dedicated session will bring together representatives of state-led STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction) programmes from Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Punjab.
The session will examine hub-and-spoke models of emergency cardiac care and approaches to scaling such programmes.
Dr Charit Bhograj, CEO and Founder of Tricog Health India, said addressing cardiovascular disease required efforts beyond hospital-based care and greater focus on reducing the gap between the onset of symptoms and initiation of treatment.
The summit’s scientific committee is chaired by Wing Commander (Dr) S.S. Iyengar, Consultant Cardiologist at Manipal Hospital, Bengaluru.
Sessions will cover cardiovascular disease burden and risk factors, paediatric heart disease screening, women’s cardiac health, artificial intelligence in diagnosis and treatment, state-level implementation strategies and the growing challenge of heart failure.
