Mann Ki Baat inspires students, youth and society: BJP Telangana chief
Speaking after listening to the 139th episode of the programme along with residents at Lakshmi’s Emporia Apartment in Miyapur in Serilingampally constituency, Rao highlighted the Prime Minister’s appeal for cleanliness and nature conservation ahead of Diwali and Chhath festivals.
He said the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative was helping Indian products gain international recognition and cited examples of river rejuvenation in Uttarakhand, organic cotton cultivation in Punjab, tribal product packaging from Maharashtra receiving Japan’s Good Design Award, and exports of Bihar makhana and Karnataka toor dal.
Rao said such initiatives reflected India’s progress towards self-reliance.
He also urged eligible graduates to register as voters for the forthcoming elections to the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ MLC constituencies.
According to him, graduates who completed their degree by October 31, 2023, should submit Form 18 by November 6, in accordance with Election Commission guidelines.
He said even those enrolled in previous electoral rolls would have to apply afresh.
Meanwhile, BJP Telangana co-in-charge and MP Rekha Sharma accused the Congress of attempting to undermine democratic institutions and divide society along caste and religious lines.
She announced that the BJP would organise a state-wide padayatra titled ‘Loktantra Bachao – Bheedtantra Hatao’ (Save Democracy – Drive Out Mobocracy) on November 1 to highlight what the party described as the Congress’s divisive politics.
Sharma appealed to people and intellectuals to support the proposed march, saying it was aimed at protecting the Constitution and democratic institutions.
BJP state general secretary Gautam Rao, district president Srinivas Reddy, Ravi Kumar Yadav, other party leaders and local residents participated in the programme.
