Man on bail in POCSO case kills six, including wife and two children, in Telangana

Hyderabad, July 11 (TNT): A 35-year-old man, who was out on bail in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act case, allegedly murdered six people, including his wife, two young sons and three members of the complainant’s family, in a series of attacks in Shabad mandal of Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district on Friday night, police said.

The accused, identified as B. Rajkumar, is absconding and a manhunt has been launched to trace and arrest him, Shabad police said on Saturday.

According to police, Rajkumar allegedly killed the 16-year-old girl who had filed the POCSO complaint against him, her mother and grandmother, before returning home and murdering his wife and two sons.

Police said the victim’s family had lodged a POCSO complaint against Rajkumar in May, accusing him of stalking and sexually harassing the minor girl.

Following the registration of the case, the accused had gone into hiding and later approached a local court in Shabad seeking anticipatory bail in June.

The court granted him anticipatory bail, following which he was released on a personal bond, police said.

Police have registered a murder case and launched an investigation into the motive behind the killings.

Efforts are underway to apprehend the accused, the police added.
