Lupin Reports 33.3% Growth in Q1 Sales, Net Profit Rises 16%
Mumbai, Aug. 7 (TNT): Pharmaceutical major Lupin Ltd has reported a 33.3 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated sales to ₹8,217.2 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, while net profit rose 16 per cent to ₹1,417 crore, driven by strong growth across key markets.
The company’s EBITDA increased 42.8 per cent year-on-year to ₹2,579.9 crore, with the EBITDA margin improving to 31.4 per cent from 29.3 per cent in the corresponding quarter last year.
Profit before tax (PBT) rose 42.5 per cent to ₹2,017.4 crore, the Mumbai based company said in a release on Friday.
Managing Director Nilesh Gupta said the company had begun FY27 on a strong note, supported by robust growth across key markets and improved profitability. He said continued focus on operational excellence, technology and innovation would drive sustainable long-term growth.
The U.S. market remained Lupin’s largest revenue contributor, with sales rising 42.9 per cent year-on-year to ₹3,434.8 crore, accounting for 42 per cent of global sales.
During the quarter, the company received six ANDA approvals from the USFDA and launched three products in the United States. Lupin currently has 149 generic products in the U.S. market.
India sales increased 13.9 per cent to ₹2,379.6 crore, contributing 29 per cent of global sales.
The company launched seven brands across therapies during the quarter and retained its position as the eighth-largest pharmaceutical company in the Indian market.
Sales in other developed markets grew 48.3 per cent to ₹1,149.4 crore, while emerging markets registered 51.7 per cent growth to ₹989.7 crore. Global API sales rose 8.5 per cent to ₹263.7 crore.
Lupin invested ₹607.7 crore, or 7.4 per cent of sales, in research and development during the quarter.
The company said cumulative ANDA filings with the USFDA stood at 429, of which 350 have been approved as of June 30, 2026. It also has 50 First-to-File (FTF) filings, including 21 exclusive FTF opportunities.
