Kakinada JC conducts surprise inspection of Kakinada cinema theatre
Kakinada, Aug 20 (TNT): Joint Collector Apurva Bharat on Thursday conducted a surprise inspection of Padma Priya Theatre in the Bhanugudi area here following complaints against the theatre management.
The Joint Collector inspected the ticket-selling process, sale of eatables and sanitation facilities in the theatre, particularly the toilets.
Officials from the Revenue, Fire Services, Legal Metrology and Food Safety departments accompanied him during the inspection.
Speaking to the media, Bharat said the inspection was conducted based on complaints received against the theatre management.
He warned that strict action would be taken against cinema theatres found violating rules by selling tickets at higher prices or engaging in black-market sales.
He said the licence of a theatre could be cancelled if it was found selling tickets in the black market or charging excessive prices for food items.
The Joint Collector also directed theatre managements to provide drinking water to cine-goers and maintain clean and hygienic toilet facilities.
District Fire Officer Kripavaram, Kakinada Urban Tahsildar V Jitendra, Food Safety officials and Legal Metrology officials accompanied the Joint Collector during the inspection.
