IndiGo Temporarily Suspends Services to Six International Destinations Till Sept-End
New Delhi, June 4 (TNT): IndiGo on Thursday announced the temporary suspension of operations to six international destinations between July 1 and September 30, 2026, citing softer seasonal demand and a challenging operating cost environment.
In a statement, the airline said services to Langkawi, Krabi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong and Shanghai will be suspended from July 1, while flights to Siem Reap will be halted from July 3.
The move was part of a network optimisation exercise aimed at aligning capacity with prevailing market conditions and demand trends while maintaining operational reliability across its international network.
The airline clarified that bookings for all affected routes would resume from October 1, 2026. However, it said services could be reinstated earlier if operating conditions and market demand improve.
Despite the temporary suspension of these routes, IndiGo said it would continue to operate more than 1,800 international flights every week, retaining the bulk of its overseas operations.
“The measured changes are designed to align capacity with current market conditions and demand trends, while ensuring the airline maintains reliability and network integrity across its global destinations,” the airline said.
IndiGo noted that elevated operating costs and continuing airspace restrictions have contributed to the decision and said it would continue to monitor the situation closely.
The airline said affected passengers would be informed proactively and advised travellers to check the latest flight information before planning their journeys.
According to the carrier, the temporary realignment reflects its strategy of managing capacity responsibly while remaining prepared to respond swiftly to favourable market developments.
