IIIT-H, NPCI Partner to Strengthen Cybersecurity in Digital Payments
The partnership will focus on research and development, specialised training, knowledge exchange and capacity building to address emerging cyber threats and improve the security and resilience of digital payment systems, the Institute said in a release on Tuesday.
IIIT-H’s Cyber Manthan Centre (CMC), which works in cybersecurity, digital forensics and trusted infrastructure, will lead the institute’s engagement under the collaboration.
IIIT-H Director Prof. Sandeep K. Shukla will steer the institute’s participation.
NPCI Managing Director and CEO Dilip Asbe said the collaboration would combine industry experience with academic expertise to advance cybersecurity research, develop practical solutions and strengthen preparedness against current and emerging risks.
Prof. Shukla said the partnership would provide a platform to examine cybersecurity challenges specific to digital payments and explore the application of emerging technologies to enhance payment security.
The initiative would also help students, researchers and professionals develop specialised skills required to secure next-generation digital payment systems, he added.
