Hyd: ACB unearths assets worth Rs 6.13-Cr in DA case against NIMS official Dr Nori Lakshmi Bhaskar
Hyderabad, Sept 23 (TNT): The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has identified assets worth Rs 6.13 crore so far in a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case registered against NIMS Additional Medical Superintendent Dr Nori Lakshmi Bhaskar .
The ACB conducted searches at his residence and seven other locations on Tuesday and unearthed several immovable and movable properties, including residential flats, open plots, bank balances, deposits, investments, gold ornaments, vehicles and electronic gadgets, the Agency said in a release.
The assets identified include a four-bedroom flat in a gated community at Kukatpally, three-bedroom flats in Kukatpally, five double-bedroom flats at Manikonda, Petbasheerabad and Kukatpally, and open plots at Yadadri, Nandigama and Shamirpet. An 800-square-yard plot in Visakhapatnam was also identified, it said.
The ACB found bank balances of Rs 41 lakh, post office deposits of Rs 12 lakh, investments of Rs 35 lakh in private financial institutions and Rs 29.55 lakh in mutual funds. Gold ornaments weighing around 517.8 grams, four-wheelers, two-wheelers and electronic gadgets worth around Rs 5 lakh were also found.
The ACB said the document value of the assets identified so far is Rs 6.13 crore, while their market value may be several times higher than the documented value.
The agency also found that the official had invested Rs 1.30 crore in purchasing a flat involved in a dispute before the Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT) and had allegedly lent Rs 1.33 crore to various persons as hand loans.
Further verification of additional assets is underway and the case is under investigation, the ACB added.
