Governor calls for collective efforts to build Viksit Bharat, prosperous Telangana
Hyderabad, Aug 15 (TNT): Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Saturday called upon citizens to make collective efforts towards building a developed and self-reliant India, drawing inspiration from the sacrifices, courage and patriotism of freedom fighters.
Addressing after unfurling the National Flag at the 80th Independence Day celebrations held at Lok Bhavan here, the Governor said every citizen had a role in the country’s journey towards Viksit Bharat. He also received the ceremonial salute from police personnel.
Shukla said India’s strength lay in its unity in diversity and noted that the country, as the world’s largest democracy, was moving rapidly towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy.
Describing Telangana as an important growth engine in India’s development journey, the Governor said Hyderabad had emerged as one of the country’s prominent growth centres.
He said the State had made significant progress in agriculture through irrigation projects and had strengthened its presence in information technology, Artificial Intelligence, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
Telangana was emerging as a global centre for innovation, technology and development, he said.
The Governor stressed that economic and technological progress must be accompanied by social well-being and youth empowerment.
He called for making TB Mukt Bharat and Nasha Mukt Bharat broad-based public movements in Telangana and urged citizens, institutions and youth to actively participate in efforts to eliminate tuberculosis and combat drug abuse.
Shukla paid tribute to the Armed Forces and security personnel for their valour, vigilance and sacrifices in protecting the country’s borders, saying their dedication enabled the nation to pursue development with confidence.
He called upon the people of Telangana to work collectively towards building a healthy, self-reliant and prosperous Telangana while contributing to the larger national vision of Viksit Bharat.
