Gland Pharma, Neuland Labs Forge Long-Term Partnership for Sterile API Manufacturing
Hyderabad, Aug. 5 (TNT): Gland Pharma Ltd and Neuland Laboratories Ltd on Wednesday announced a long-term strategic partnership to expand sterile Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing, targeting the growing global demand for sterile APIs used in microparticle depot products and other complex injectable therapies.
Under the agreement, Gland Pharma will establish a dedicated sterile manufacturing suite at its JNPC facility in Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) to support Neuland’s increasing demand for sterile APIs.
The new facility will be built to cGMP, USFDA and EU standards and will leverage Gland Pharma’s expertise in aseptic manufacturing, the Hyderabad based pharma said in a release.
The companies said the collaboration combines Neuland’s expertise in complex API development, process development and custom manufacturing with Gland Pharma’s sterile manufacturing and regulatory capabilities to offer an integrated CDMO solution covering product development, scale-up, regulatory support and commercial manufacturing.
The dedicated sterile suite will add an estimated 1,400 kg of annual manufacturing capacity, providing flexibility for multiple sterile products while supporting future expansion.
The partnership is also expected to strengthen global supply resilience by combining the complementary capabilities of the two companies.
Commenting on the collaboration, Gland Pharma Executive Chairman Srinivas Sadu said the investment would strengthen the company’s sterile API manufacturing capabilities and help meet rising customer demand through a scalable CDMO platform backed by quality, compliance and manufacturing excellence.
Neuland Laboratories CEO and Managing Director Saharsh Davuluri said the partnership would combine Neuland’s expertise in complex APIs with Gland Pharma’s proven sterile manufacturing capabilities to create a differentiated platform capable of delivering quality, reliability and supply assurance to innovator and generic pharmaceutical companies worldwide.
