Fuel stocks adequate in Telangana, no need to panic buying: Civil Supplies Commissioner

Hyderabad, Apr 28 (TNT): State Civil Supplies Commissioner Stephen Ravindra on  Tuesday said petrol and diesel stocks in the state are sufficient and there is no cause for concern over availability.

In a statement, he said a total of 29,939 kilolitres of fuel was supplied on April 27, exceeding the usual demand levels.

He noted that the average daily demand stands at around 5,883 kilolitres of petrol and 7,348 kilolitres of diesel. However, on the day, supplies reached 11,490 kilolitres of petrol and 18,449 kilolitres of diesel, significantly higher than normal consumption.

Ravindra said fuel supply is being closely monitored by field-level officials in coordination with petroleum company representatives to ensure uninterrupted availability.

He also advised consumers not to resort to panic buying or stockpiling based on rumours, assuring that adequate stocks are being maintained across the state.
