Four SCR players selected for Indian Kabaddi teams for Asian Games in Japan
Hyderabad, Aug 24 (TNT): Four South Central Railway (SCR) Kabaddi players have been selected to represent India at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, scheduled from September 19 to October 4, 2026, SCR said on Monday.



Ritu Negi, Office Superintendent at Electric Loco Shed, Lallaguda, and Pinky Roy, Senior Technician in the Signal and Telecommunication wing at Mettuguda, have been selected for the Indian women’s team.
Ayan Lohchab, Professional Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk, and Sumit Sangwan, Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk, both from the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager’s office at Secunderabad, have been selected for the men’s team, the SCR said in a release here.
The four players will be part of the 12-member Indian men’s and women’s Kabaddi squads. The Kabaddi competition will be held from September 21 to 26 at the Tokai Citizens Gymnasium in Tokai, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
The selection of four SCR players is a matter of pride for South Central Railway and Indian Railways and reflects SCR’s efforts to promote sports and nurture sporting talent among its employees, the railway said.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava congratulated the players and wished them success at the Asian Games.
He appreciated their dedication and achievements and expressed confidence that they would excel at the international platform and bring laurels to the country, Indian Railways and South Central Railway.
