EC revises Telangana electoral roll revision schedule; final roll on Oct 12

Hyderabad, July 15 (TNT): The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls in Telangana, with the final electoral roll now set to be published on October 12 instead of October 1.

According to a memo issued by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer here on Wednesday, the revision exercise is being undertaken with October 1, 2026 as the qualifying date. The revised schedule has been approved by the ECI.

As per the revised schedule, house-to-house verification by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will continue till August 3, while rationalisation of polling stations will be completed by August 3.

The draft electoral roll will now be published on August 10, and the period for filing claims and objections will be from August 10 to September 9. The disposal of claims and objections has been scheduled between August 10 and October 8.

The final electoral roll will be published on October 12, in accordance with the revised schedule approved by the Election Commission.
