D.S.V.R. Murthy assumes charge as Chief Postmaster General of Telangana Circle

Hyderabad, May 12 (TNT): Department of Posts on Tuesday announced that D.S.V.R. Murthy, an officer of the 1998 batch of the Indian Postal Service (IPoS), has assumed charge as the Chief Postmaster General of Telangana Circle.

A Computer Science Engineer from Gitam’s Engineering College, Visakhapatnam, Murthy is a native of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh.

He joined the Department of Posts as an Indian Postal Service Officer on September 7, 1998, and has served in various capacities including SSRM, Air Mail Sorting-Mumbai, Manager at the Air Mail Processing Centre-Mumbai, SSPOs-Bengaluru, and APMG at the Bengaluru Circle Office.

Later, as a JAG officer, he served as DPS-Chennai and DPS-Vijayawada Region.

In the Senior Administrative Grade (SAG), he worked as Additional Director at the Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Postal Academy, Ghaziabad, Postmaster General of South Karnataka Region and Postmaster General of Vijayawada Region.

Murthy was promoted to the Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) and served as Chief Postmaster General of the Jammu & Kashmir Postal Circle from November 17, 2025, before being transferred to Telangana Circle.

The Telangana Postal Circle welcomed Murthy and expressed confidence in his leadership in strengthening and modernising postal services across the state.
