CSC Table Top Exercise on maritime security concludes in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam, Sept 11 (TNT): A three-day Table Top Exercise (TTX) under the aegis of the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC) concluded at the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) here on Friday, focusing on a coordinated response to illicit maritime activities in the Indian Ocean Region.

The exercise, which commenced on September 9 with an address by Rear Admiral Manoj Jha, Chief Staff Officer (Operations), ENC, brought together delegations and maritime security experts from CSC member states and observer nations, a defence release said here on Saturday

The participants engaged in simulated operational scenarios addressing non-traditional maritime security challenges, including maritime terrorism, narcotics smuggling, human trafficking and illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

The exercise also reviewed existing Standard Operating Procedures and streamlined information-sharing mechanisms to strengthen collective Maritime Domain Awareness.

The exercise reaffirmed the commitment of CSC nations to promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the region and was aligned with the vision of MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions).
