CM Revanth Reddy invites Singapore firms to invest in Telangana
Hyderabad, Sept 16 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday invited Singapore companies to invest in the state and assured them of all necessary support from the government.
A Singapore delegation led by Augustine Lee, Permanent Secretary of the Energy Market Division under Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, met the Chief Minister at the Assembly here.
During the meeting, the Singapore representatives expressed readiness to set up semiconductor manufacturing units in Telangana.
Revanth welcomed the proposal and assured the delegation of government support for their investments.
The Chief Minister briefed the delegation on major development projects being undertaken by the state and sought financial assistance from Singapore for the projects.
He also invited the Singapore representatives to attend the Telangana Global Summit, scheduled to be held at Bharat Future City in December.
Revanth outlined the key features of the Musi River rejuvenation project, including the first phase covering the stretch from the confluence of the Musi and Eesa rivers to Gandhi Sarovar.
The proposed promotion of a night economy was also discussed.
The Chief Minister highlighted the development of Bharat Future City as a net-zero city and the government’s plans to transform Hyderabad into a knowledge hub.
He informed the delegation about agreements entered into by the Telangana government with international universities, including Harvard, Oxford, MIT and London Business School, for establishing offshore campuses in Hyderabad.
State Government Adviser K Ramakrishna Rao, South Asia Senior Director Dr Francis Chong, Consul-General William Chik and other Singapore representatives were present at the meeting.
