Canon India to double retail network to 10,000 outlets across 700 cities by 2027

New Delhi, Oct 1 (TNT) : Canon India on Wednesday announced plans to expand its consumer printing network to more than 10,000 active retailers across 700 cities by the end of 2027, doubling its current reach as it seeks to tap growing demand in smaller cities and strengthen its presence in consumer and business markets.

The expansion is backed by sustained double-digit year-on-year growth in the company’s consumer printing business, the company said in a release.

The company is focusing on Tier II, III and IV markets, where rising entrepreneurship, digital adoption and education-related demand are creating opportunities for printing solutions.

Canon India President and CEO Toshiaki Nomura said the expansion reflected the company’s long-term growth ambitions in India and its plan to strengthen customer access through wider retail distribution, product experience and expert guidance.

As part of its channel expansion strategy, Canon is introducing BizBee, a digital platform for business-to-business partners, including system integrators and value-added resellers.

The platform will provide incentives, product training, technical certifications, business resources and digital tools.

BizBee will complement the Canon Passport Program, which supports more than 5,000 active reseller partners through a digital rewards and engagement platform.

The company is also strengthening its omnichannel presence across traditional retail outlets, large-format retail chains, e-commerce, quick commerce and enterprise-focused partners.

Canon currently has more than 400 active PIXMA Zones across India and plans to roll out over 500 PIXMA Zone Lite stores this year.

Its Canon eSHOP platform enables authorised resellers to showcase and sell products online.

The company’s Retail Display Incentive Program engages more than 1,000 partners to improve in-store product visibility.

Canon is also expanding its RetailChamp Initiative, which focuses on training retail sales personnel, from 400 to more than 1,000 employees.

Canon India Vice-President C Sukumaran said the company was focusing on strengthening partner capabilities and equipping frontline teams to address local requirements and improve customer service.

Canon also plans to expand its system integrator network to more than 500 partners nationwide to support business across enterprise, education and government segments.

The company said the expansion of its retail network, digital commerce platforms and partner ecosystem would support growth across consumer, small and medium enterprises, education and institutional markets.
