BRS demands Union Education Minister’s resignation, attacks Centre and Telangana govt

Hyderabad, July 24 (TNT): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Friday demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination irregularities and accused both the BJP-led Centre and the Congress government in Telangana of failing students and youth.

Addressing a gathering of students and youth at Indira Park here, KTR alleged that the Centre was attempting to suppress the voices of students protesting over issues such as the alleged NEET paper leak and examination irregularities.

He claimed that such attempts would only strengthen the movement.

Holding the Union Education Minister morally responsible for repeated examination irregularities, KTR urged the Centre to engage in dialogue with agitating students instead of resorting to what he termed repression.

The BRS leader alleged that the BJP had failed to safeguard the interests of students and unemployed youth and accused the Union Government of targeting those demanding accountability instead of those responsible for examination lapses.

Targeting Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, KTR alleged that instead of taking up students’ issues with the Centre, the Chief Minister was attacking the BRS for political reasons. He further alleged that Revanth Reddy was avoiding a direct confrontation with the BJP and was attempting to divert public attention from issues concerning students.

KTR said the State Government should stand with students and youth on issues affecting their future rather than shielding the Centre.

He alleged that both the Union and State governments had failed the younger generation.

Calling upon students and youth to continue their agitation through democratic means, KTR said the fight was for justice, accountability and the future of the country’s youth.
