Brahma Kumaris organise anti-drug bike rally in Kakinada
Kakinada, Aug 25 (TNT): The Brahma Kumaris organised an anti-drug awareness bike rally from Sarpavaram Junction to Vivekananda Park here on Tuesday as part of efforts to create awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and narcotic substances.
MLC Karri Padma Sri, who was the chief guest, flagged off the rally and called upon people, particularly youth, to stay away from drugs and lead responsible lives.
She appreciated the Brahma Kumaris for taking up the initiative to spread awareness about the ill-effects of drugs, ganja and other narcotic substances.
Padma Sri said keeping youth away from drugs required collective efforts by families, educational institutions, police and society.
The EAGLE (Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement) team also participated in the rally as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat programme.
Brahma Kumaris Rajini Didi, Red Cross Society chairman Yarlagadda Dasaradha Ramarao, NCC Colonel H S Naik, EAGLE Circle Inspector Venkateswara Rao and Trust Hospital CMD Dr Kalyana Chakravarthy were among those who participated in the rally.
