BJP to Fight Telangana Polls on Performance, Not Congress’ Failures: BJP Natl Prez Nitin Nabin

Hyderabad, June 30 (TNT): Launching a sharp attack on the ruling Congress in Telangana, BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Tuesday said the BJP would contest the next Assembly elections on the strength of its own governance record and organisational network rather than banking on the failures of its political rivals.

Addressing the BJP State Executive Meeting here, Nabin accused the Congress government of failing to fulfil its six poll guarantees, including promises of unemployment allowance and financial assistance to women, and alleged that Telangana had been turned into an “ATM for the Congress party.”

“We will not make the Congress party’s weaknesses the basis of our election campaign. We will fight elections on the strength of our own achievements. The USP of the BJP government is that it delivers on every promise it makes,” he said.

Calling for a “Congress-free Telangana”, the BJP leader urged party workers to intensify their grassroots campaign to bring the party to power in the state.

Nabin also targeted the Congress, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and Bharat Rashtra Samithi, alleging that the three parties supported religion-based reservations.

He reiterated that the BJP opposes reservations on religious grounds and claimed that such provisions would be withdrawn if the party formed the government in Telangana.

Highlighting the BJP’s organisational strength, Nabin said the party’s growth from winning just two Lok Sabha seats in 1984 to becoming the world’s largest political party was driven by the commitment of its booth-level karyakartas and unwavering adherence to its ideology.

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s leadership for expanding welfare delivery over the past 12 years, asserting that the benefits of government schemes had reached the last person.

He also claimed that no corruption allegations had been levelled against any Union Minister during the BJP-led government’s tenure.

Referring to the BJP’s electoral gains in West Bengal, Nabin said the party’s success was built on its ideology, leadership and the dedication of its workers, adding that the BJP would continue expanding its political footprint across the country.

Appealing to party workers to prepare for the next electoral battle, he said the BJP remained committed to the principle of “Nation first, party next, self last” and called on cadres to work towards Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
