ATGC Biotech Signs Global Commercialisation Agreements at Bharat Innovates 2026

Hyderabad, June 15 (TNT): ATGC Biotech Pvt. Ltd., a Hyderabad-based deep-tech agricultural biotechnology company, on Monday announced the exchange of strategic international agreements aimed at supporting the global commercialisation of its sustainable agricultural technologies.

The agreements were exchanged during Bharat Innovates 2026, billed as the largest global showcase of Indian deep-tech innovation held outside India, being held in France from June 14 to 16, the company said in a release here.

Selected among 120 high-potential startups from across the country, ATGC Biotech represented India’s growing capabilities in agricultural biotechnology, sustainable crop protection and precision agriculture technologies.

The event was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron, underscoring the importance of innovation-driven collaboration between India and France.

As part of the event, ATGC Biotech exchanged a licensing agreement with a Swiss partner covering six products and strengthened its international expansion plans through its Semiophore joint venture with Luxembourg Industries Ltd. (LIL), advancing a portfolio of 18 products targeted at global agricultural markets.

The agreements were exchanged in the presence of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood and BIRAC Head (RFID) Dr. Manish Diwan.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal also interacted with the company’s international partners during the event.

“ATGC Biotech’s selection for Bharat Innovates 2026 is a significant milestone and a strong validation of India’s growing leadership in deep-tech innovation,” said Dr. Markandeya Gorantla, Chairman and Managing Director of ATGC Biotech.

He said sustainable crop protection solutions would play a critical role in addressing global agricultural challenges and ensuring future food security.

“The partnerships announced at Bharat Innovates strengthen our ability to take Indian-developed agricultural technologies to global markets while contributing to more sustainable farming practices worldwide,” Gorantla added.

Commenting on the Semiophore joint venture, David Luxembourgh, Executive Chairman of Luxembourg Industries Ltd., said the collaboration demonstrated how Indian innovation and global market expertise could come together to accelerate the adoption of sustainable crop protection technologies worldwide.

Dr. Manish Diwan said ATGC Biotech’s journey from indigenous innovation to global commercialisation exemplified the strength of India’s deep-tech ecosystem in creating science-driven solutions with international relevance and societal value.

ATGC Biotech has developed pest management technologies based on pheromones and semiochemicals that seek to control insect populations by disrupting mating behaviour and preventing future pest generations rather than relying on conventional insect-killing approaches.

The company said its participation in Bharat Innovates 2026 reflected the growing global recognition of Indian agri-biotech innovation and the role of home-grown scientific research in addressing challenges related to food security, agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability.

With expanding international collaborations and commercialisation initiatives, ATGC Biotech said it remains focused on delivering India-developed agricultural technologies to farmers across global markets.
