AP to Launch ‘Sanjeevani’ Public Health Mission Statewide from August 15:CM Naidu

Puthalapattu (Chittoor district), May 23 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced that the state government would launch the Sanjeevani public health project across Andhra Pradesh from August 15 this year to provide world-class healthcare services to all citizens.

Addressing the Sanjeevani programme at Yadamari in Puthalapattu constituency of Chittoor district, the Chief Minister described Sanjeevani not merely as a software platform but as a comprehensive digital public health operating system aimed at transforming Andhra Pradesh from “illness to wellness.”

He said the project would function on preventive, predictive and curative healthcare principles with focus on early disease detection, prevention and timely treatment.

Naidu stated that doctors would continuously monitor citizens’ digital health records through the Sanjeevani platform. The project was initially launched as a pilot in Kuppam and has been implemented across Chittoor district since March.

The Chief Minister said the government had initiated doorstep delivery of 42 medical diagnostic tests and that reports would be provided directly to citizens. He added that doctor appointments, virtual consultations and digital health records would all be integrated through the Sanjeevani Card system.

He also announced that the government was working towards introducing AI-enabled doctor services in the near future.

Stating that many families were suffering financially due to high medical expenses, he said the coalition government was giving top priority to education and healthcare.

He said ₹19,305 crore had been allocated to the health sector in the current budget and noted that Andhra Pradesh had secured the highest health grant of ₹2,601 crore from the 15th Finance Commission.

Under the Universal Health Policy, he said every citizen, irrespective of economic status, would receive healthcare benefits worth ₹2.5 lakh, while treatment expenses up to ₹25 lakh would be covered under NTR Vaidya Seva and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

The Chief Minister also spoke about water conservation, irrigation and industrial development projects in Rayalaseema.

He announced that the Neeva project works would be completed to bring Krishna river water to Chittoor through Puthalapattu and said several irrigation projects, including Galeru–Nagari and the Somasila–Swarnamukhi Link Canal, were progressing on schedule.

Naidu further said Rayalaseema would emerge as a defence manufacturing hub with establishment of a fifth-generation fighter aircraft manufacturing project at Puttaparthi.

He also highlighted upcoming projects including a Google data centre in Visakhapatnam, a drone manufacturing facility in Kurnool, aerospace and electronics projects in Anantapur and a motorcycle manufacturing unit in Tirupati.

The Chief Minister alleged that the success of the coalition government’s welfare and development programmes had unsettled the opposition and asserted that the government was committed to building a “Healthy, Wealthy, Happy Andhra Pradesh.”
