AP CM Naidu stresses skill development, inaugurates industrial projects in Kuppam
Kuppam, July 3 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday underscored the need to build a skilled workforce to meet the growing requirements of industries, saying skill development must receive the highest priority.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the Rs 200-crore ABIS Proteins Pvt Ltd Greenfield poultry and chicken processing unit and the APIIC-developed MSME Park at Pogurupalle village in Gudupalle mandal of Kuppam constituency.
He also inaugurated a Rs 28-crore rooftop solar project benefiting 7,489 Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) families.
The ABIS Proteins facility has been established over 30.75 acres with an investment of Rs 200 crore. Naidu inspected the plant and reviewed its operations.
He also handed over appointment letters to candidates selected through the company’s job fair. Commercial production at the unit is scheduled to commence later this month.
The project is expected to generate around 1,400 employment opportunities, including 700 direct and 700 indirect jobs. In the first phase, appointment letters have been issued to 300-400 candidates.
The unit is also expected to provide assured market access and contract farming opportunities for local poultry farmers while boosting feed supply, transportation and allied sectors.
Naidu also inaugurated the 44.58-acre MSME Park developed by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) and directed officials to begin allotment of 167 industrial plots from this month.
The park has been developed with integrated infrastructure to facilitate the establishment of micro, small and medium enterprises and promote industrial growth in the region.
The Chief Minister further dedicated five RESCO power substations, constructed at a cost of Rs 25 crore, in Kanamanapalli, Gangapuram, T. Samudram, Krishnanagar and Balla villages.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Naidu said his government was committed to transforming Kuppam through industrial, agricultural and service sector growth.
Referring to the success of horticulture in Lingala mandal, he said effective utilisation of available opportunities had resulted in one of the highest per capita incomes in the State.
“Youth should not remain job seekers alone; they must become job creators. With enhanced skills and innovative thinking, they can achieve remarkable progress,” the Chief Minister added.
